When we left Washington I made the decision that when we ran out of diapers for Maria that would be it, no more diapers, and potty training would begin.
It started off great.... we had diapers.
Then the diapers, as they do, started disappearing.
We were down to our last dozen diapers, and I decided that potty training should begin.
We went to the market and bought some "bloomers".
Diapers were only used during naps or at night.
It was going pretty well. Maria was becoming aware of her bodily functions.
She even told us a few times before such bodily functions were going to occur.
We discovered that if she didn't wear anything on bottom when she napped then she wouldn't wet the bed.
We discovered that she liked looking at her number 2 in the toilet...
...and that she really didn't care where she went number 1.
And then she started not caring where she went number 2.....
and we decided that maybe she wasn't quite ready to start potty training.
So we bought more diapers...
...and will try potty training another day.

This would be an excellent children's book. Just illustrate some pictures to go with it and you'll be set!
